About Course

The Cambridge International AS & A Level Accounting (9706) qualification is an internationally recognised programme designed for learners aged 16 to 19. It is accepted by universities and employers worldwide and provides a strong foundation for higher education and professional study. Learners are recommended to have mathematics knowledge equivalent to Cambridge IGCSE (Extended) or Cambridge O Level before starting. The full A Level is typically completed over two academic years, comprises four examination papers, and is normally completed in a single examination series, although it may also be taken in stages.

Throughout this course, you will develop a thorough understanding of financial accounting and cost and management accounting while learning how accounting supports business planning, decision-making and organisational performance. You will prepare and analyse financial statements, interpret accounting information, evaluate financial performance using accounting ratios, and apply budgeting, costing and investment appraisal techniques. You will also explore ethical and regulatory considerations, accounting standards, auditing and business finance. These knowledge and skills provide an excellent pathway to university programmes in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics and related disciplines, while supporting future careers in accounting, auditing, banking, taxation, financial analysis and business management.

At Polymath Institute, your study partner, you will learn through a structured digital learning platform designed around the official Cambridge syllabus. Every topic is supported by syllabus-aligned video lessons, guided practice, interactive quizzes, topic exercises, assessments, past paper practice, mock examinations and focused revision activities. Continuous progress tracking helps you identify strengths and improve weaker areas while building confidence throughout your studies. With 24/7 tutoring support, you can receive guidance whenever you need it, learn at your own pace, revisit lessons as often as required, strengthen examination techniques and prepare effectively for higher grades while developing skills that support university success and future professional careers.
