Accounting 9706
About Course
The Cambridge International AS & A Level Accounting syllabus (9706) is designed to develop students’ understanding of accounting as an information system that supports decision-making in real business contexts. Students learn both financial accounting and cost and management accounting principles, procedures and interpretations.
The course builds from foundational topics at the AS Level such as recording transactions and preparing basic financial statements to more advanced concepts at A Level, including regulatory considerations, business acquisitions and performance analysis.
Learners will also develop analytical and evaluative skills needed to interpret accounting information, make decisions and communicate outcomes effectively to stakeholders.
Assessment is through written examinations and candidates may take the qualification as an AS Level, continue to the full A Level, or combine both in a staged approach.
