Arabic 0544
About Course
Cambridge IGCSE™ Arabic (0544) is an internationally recognised qualification designed primarily for learners aged 14–16, although students of other ages may enter. No formal prior qualification is specified, but learners should be ready to study Modern Standard Arabic as a foreign language. The course typically takes 18–24 months, with approximately 130 guided learning hours. Assessment consists of four papers, normally completed within one examination series, developing effective communication, cultural awareness and a strong foundation for further study or employment.
You will develop listening, reading, speaking and writing skills through familiar situations connected with everyday activities, personal and social life, the surrounding world, education, employment and international communities. You will learn to understand spoken and written Arabic, communicate ideas and opinions, participate in conversations and produce accurate connected texts. These practical skills support real-life communication and progression to Cambridge International AS & A Level Arabic or other language-related study. Arabic proficiency may also support pathways in languages, international relations, education, translation, tourism, journalism, diplomacy and global business.
At Polymath Institute, your study partner, you will learn through a structured digital platform containing syllabus-aligned lessons, guided practice, topic exercises, quizzes and regular assessments. Past papers, mock examinations, focused revision and detailed progress tracking will help you understand your examination readiness and identify areas requiring improvement. You can learn at your own pace, revisit difficult lessons and strengthen weaker listening, reading, speaking or writing skills. With 24/7 tutoring support, targeted examination preparation and connections between language learning, university pathways and professional opportunities, you will build the confidence, accuracy and examination techniques needed to work towards higher grades.
