About Course

Cambridge International AS & A Level Business (9609) is an internationally recognised qualification, typically studied by learners aged 16–19. No previous study of Business is required. The AS Level is usually completed in one academic year, while the full A Level normally takes two years. AS candidates take two examination papers in one series; A Level candidates take four papers, either in one series or through a staged route. The course develops business understanding, analytical judgement and effective decision-making.

You will study how businesses operate, grow and respond to changing environments. Major areas include enterprise, human resource management, marketing, operations, finance, accounting and business strategy. You will apply quantitative and qualitative information to realistic business situations, evaluate alternative courses of action and make justified recommendations. These skills support progression to university courses such as business management, marketing, finance, accounting, economics, entrepreneurship and human resources, while preparing you for careers in management, consultancy, banking, operations, marketing and enterprise development.

At Polymath Institute, your study partner, you learn through a structured digital platform with syllabus-aligned lessons, guided practice, topic exercises, quizzes and regular assessments. Past papers, mock examinations and focused revision help you strengthen examination technique and prepare for higher grades. Progress tracking shows your developing strengths, weaker areas and level of examination readiness. You can learn at your own pace, revisit difficult lessons and receive 24/7 tutoring support whenever additional guidance is needed. Applied case studies connect business theory with real organisational decisions, while career-focused activities help you understand how your learning supports university study, professional skills and future employment.
