About Course

Cambridge IGCSE Chemistry (0620) is designed for learners typically aged 14–16, though students of other ages may also enter. It builds foundational knowledge of chemical principles and emphasises scientific skills that support further study in science and related fields.

The course helps learners understand how the physical world works at the molecular and atomic level, linking theory with practical contexts. There is a strong focus on developing experimental skills, analytical thinking, data interpretation, and problem-solving.

Learning progresses from fundamental concept such as states of matter and atomic structure to more complex topics including organic chemistry and chemical energetics. Practical work is integrated throughout and supports assessment.

This qualification prepares learners for further study in science, including Cambridge International AS & A Level Chemistry and other post-16 programmes, as well as providing transferable scientific skills for various academic pathways.
