About Course

The Cambridge IGCSE™ Chemistry (0620) is an internationally recognised qualification designed primarily for learners aged 14–16, although it is suitable for students of other ages. It provides a strong foundation in chemistry through the study of scientific concepts, practical investigations and problem-solving. No formal previous knowledge is required, although a basic understanding of lower secondary science is beneficial. The course is typically completed over one academic year and is assessed through three examination components in a single examination series.

Throughout this course, you will explore how matter behaves, why chemical reactions occur and how chemistry shapes the world around you. You will study topics including atomic structure, chemical bonding, stoichiometry, electrochemistry, acids and bases, organic chemistry, environmental chemistry and experimental techniques. Along the way, you will develop practical laboratory skills, scientific reasoning, data analysis and quantitative problem-solving. These skills provide an excellent foundation for advanced study, including Cambridge International AS & A Level Chemistry and related university programmes in science, engineering, medicine, pharmacy, environmental science and many other STEM disciplines.

At Polymath Institute, your study partner, you will learn through a structured digital learning platform designed around the official Cambridge syllabus. Every topic is supported with syllabus-aligned video lessons, guided practice, topic exercises, quizzes, assessments, past paper practice, mock examinations and focused revision activities. Continuous progress tracking helps you identify strengths and improve weaker areas, while 24/7 tutoring support ensures help is always available whenever you need it. You can study at your own pace, revisit lessons as often as required and build the confidence, practical understanding and examination readiness needed to pursue higher grades while connecting your learning with future university studies and professional opportunities.
