Environmental Management 0680
About Course
Cambridge IGCSE Environmental Management (0680) is an international secondary-level qualification designed for learners typically aged 14–16, although candidates of other ages may also take the course. This syllabus provides a structured study of environmental processes, human impacts on the environment, and strategies for managing natural resources sustainably. It supports students in developing interdisciplinary understanding by drawing on biology, Earth science, economics, geography and social considerations.Â
The course is appropriate for learners who want to deepen their awareness of global environmental challenges and build analytical and evaluation skills through real-world contexts. Students will explore environmental issues at local, regional and global levels, helping them understand both scientific concepts and human decision-making.Â
Teaching progresses from foundational concepts such as natural systems and ecosystems to more complex issues like energy use, resource depletion, pollution and management strategies. Throughout the course, case studies are used to link theoretical knowledge with practical scenarios.Â
Prepared learners will be ready for external examinations held in the June and November series (plus March in India only), and the qualification equips students with transferable skills useful for further study, including Cambridge International AS Level Environmental Management.
