Geography 0460
About Course
Cambridge IGCSE Geography (0460) gives learners aged around 14–16 a comprehensive understanding of both physical and human geography, helping them make sense of the world around them through the study of place, environment and processes. The syllabus integrates factual knowledge with geographical skills such as map interpretation, data analysis and fieldwork.Â
Learners explore the interactions between people and the environment, how they change places at local, regional and global scales, and the challenges and opportunities this creates. It develops spatial awareness and environmental understanding across varied contexts, from urban settlements to natural hazards.Â
Learning progresses through thematic study, deepening students’ ability to interpret data, evaluate evidence and make judgements about geographical issues. Case studies are used throughout to link theory to real-world examples, and learners reflect on sustainable development and human-environment relationships.Â
The qualification prepares learners for further studies in geography, environmental science and related fields, while also building transferable analytical and decision-making skills valued in many careers.
