About Course

Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics (9709) is an internationally recognised qualification typically studied by learners aged 16–19. It assumes knowledge equivalent to Cambridge IGCSE Mathematics Extended or Cambridge O Level Mathematics. The AS Level normally takes one academic year and includes two examination components, while the full A Level usually takes two years and includes four components. The linear A Level route may be completed in one examination series. The course develops mathematical knowledge, logical reasoning, modelling and problem-solving skills.

You will study pure mathematics alongside an applied pathway in mechanics or probability and statistics. Major areas include algebra, functions, coordinate geometry, trigonometry, series, calculus, vectors, differential equations and complex numbers. You will learn to model real situations, interpret data, analyse motion and forces, select appropriate mathematical methods and communicate solutions clearly. The qualification supports progression to mathematics, engineering, physics, computing, economics, finance, statistics and related university courses, while building valuable foundations for careers involving quantitative analysis, technology, scientific research and problem-solving.

At Polymath Institute, your study partner, you will learn through a structured digital platform containing syllabus-aligned lessons, guided practice, topic exercises, quizzes and regular assessments. Past-paper training, mock examinations, focused revision and detailed progress tracking will help you understand your examination readiness and identify weaker areas. You can learn at your own pace, revisit challenging lessons and strengthen essential techniques before advancing. Readiness reports and targeted support will guide your preparation for higher grades, while applied activities connect mathematics with university study and professional contexts. With 24/7 tutoring support, you can receive help whenever difficulties arise and maintain steady progress towards your academic and career goals.
