Mathematics – Additional 0606

Cambridge IGCSE™ Additional Mathematics (0606) is designed for learners preparing to extend their mathematical skills beyond the standard IGCSE Mathematics course. It is most suitable for students who enjoy mathematics and wish to develop deeper understanding in areas such as algebra, functions, trigonometry, calculus and more advanced topics. 

The syllabus builds on the foundational mathematical knowledge typically gained in earlier secondary study (e.g., IGCSE Mathematics). It encourages learners to think flexibly, solve complex problems, communicate mathematical reasoning clearly, and make connections across different topic areas. 

Learning progresses through systematic exploration of topics such as functions, quadratics, logarithms, trigonometry, calculus, vectors and series. Each topic emphasises both procedural fluency and conceptual understanding, with structured practice in problem-solving and analytical techniques. 

Assessment readiness is supported by clear aims and subject content that align with the two examination papers. The syllabus prepares learners for further mathematical study, including Cambridge International AS & A Level Mathematics, by strengthening confidence with algebraic manipulation, graphical interpretation and deductive reasoning.
