About Course

The Cambridge IGCSE Spanish syllabus (0530) prepares learners for examinations in 2025, 2026 and 2027. It focuses on developing strong communicative ability in Spanish, enabling learners to understand and use the language effectively in everyday and practical contexts.

Learners engage with a range of spoken and written Spanish, building skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing. The syllabus places emphasis on real communication and cultural understanding, guided by the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR) framework, with an aim around A2/B1 level proficiency.

Studies progress through thematic topic areas that provide meaningful contexts for vocabulary, grammar, cultural awareness and real-world language use. This integrated approach enables learners to develop confidence in comprehension and expression.

Assessment is balanced across all four language skills through structured papers that reflect typical communicative situations, preparing learners for further study or practical use of Spanish in diverse pathways.
