Course Introduction
Cambridge International AS & A Level Thinking Skills is an academic course that develops transferable reasoning skills essential for success in higher education and professional contexts. Rather than teaching subject-specific content, the course focuses on the underlying intellectual processes central to analytical and critical thought.
The course is structured around a sequence of modules that guide learners from basic information organisation and processing through increasingly complex problem solving and reasoning tasks. This progression supports both confidence and capability in handling unfamiliar situations, interpreting evidence, and communicating logical conclusions.
Learning emphasises active engagement with information, reasoned decision-making, and clear argument construction — skills that support performance not only in assessments for this syllabus, but across other subjects and in real-world reasoning.
Assessment readiness is achieved through continuous practice of problems, explanations, and argumentation exercises, supported by worked examples and past exam questions.
