By the end of this lesson, you should be able to distinguish official Cambridge documents from commercial resources and assemble balanced materials for all four skills.

A learner dictionary is useful during study, but dictionaries are not allowed in the examination.
Responsible use of past papers
- Use supported practice while learning a task type.
- Move to timed question-group or question practice.
- Complete full papers after the relevant skills are taught.
- Review why answers are correct and transfer the lesson.
- Use official mark schemes and teacher feedback; do not memorise model answers.
Entry checks
Centres should verify current availability and entry rules. Syllabus 0472 cannot be combined in the same series with specified Cambridge first-language, second-language, additional-language and O Level English syllabuses listed in the official syllabus.
